It was a joyful inconvenience.
Every morning as I got ready for work, I would throw on dress after dress. It seemed many of them got bigger and bigger as the weeks went by and the pounds slowly melted away. It turned into a time consuming guessing game. I honestly got a kick out of it. My progress was staring me right the face with each item of clothing I literally lost my way out of wearing.
One morning after about 30 minutes of the try-this-on-only-to-find-out-it’s-too-big-and-find-something-else-to-wear game, I decided to let it all go. I didn’t need to be surrounded by all the beautiful clothes I have worn along my journey to validate my progress. More importantly, those pretty and flattering plus-sized wrap dresses in sizes 24 to 16 should be part of someone else’s journey.
I decided to donate close to 150 clothing items to Dress for Success Hampton Roads, a program that gives business attire to women in need. I also got to meet one very special lady who received some of my dresses. Check out the story on WTKR!
