Be stronger

The other day while walking the aisles at Walmart, a t-shirt in their fitness department stopped me in my tracks.

It said “BE STRONGER.”

At first glance, you might think it’s telling you to go find some strength, or to become strong, but the longer I stared at the shirt’s bold message, the clearer its meaning became.

To me, the message meant dig deeper into the strength that is already inside.  A God-given, divine strength that’s been there all along.

It’s that unwavering strength that we have to tap into along this health and fitness journey.  No matter how much weight you will lose, or how long you have kept it off, it never becomes so easy that it’s effortless. At least that’s been my experience.

From pushing yourself to workout, or pushing away a plate of unhealthy foods, you constantly have to rely on strength and discipline to stay on the course.

Isaiah 40:31 says “those who hope in the lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”  In those moments when you don’t think you’re strong enough to stay on the journey, renew the strength that’s already inside you.

Be stronger.
